HEY GUYS! THIS POST IS ALL ABOUT 12 WAYS TO STAY PRODUCTIVE WHEN WORKING FROM HOME.
Working from home can make time become a blur and let’s be honest… With all the commodities it get pretty hard to concentrate and actually be productive. So I’m going to share with you 12 ways to help you be more productive when working from home.
-
WAKE UP EARLY
Waking up early and not sleeping to the last minute can be very helpful in getting in the correct mindset to have a productive day from home. I love sleep as much as the next person, but if you just roll out of bed and immediately get to work without having time to get ready for the day then you won’t have the correct energy or mindset to be productive.
-
HAVE A MORNING ROUTINE
Having a morning routine will give you a chore to do every day. This means basically staring your day off doing something productive. A good step in the right direction. For example: making your bed.
-
MAKE YOUR BED
Making your bed can often times be put off and left for later when having a busy schedule but, doing so will give you something to feel accomplished about every day and also will make you think twice before getting in bed without finishing the task you’ve set out to do in the day.
-
GET DRESSED
Changing from pajamas or sleepwear can really set the tone for a productive day. Being in sleepwear all day will probably only make you want to go right back and cuddle up in the bed. You don’t have to change into a super outfit as if going to a corporate office but changing to more presentable clothes can help create a difference in ambiance and mood.
-
DEFINE YOUR WORKSPACE
Working from home is awesome at first, because who doesn’t like being in their own space with their own stuff. Am I right? But let’s face it… after a while its hard to get in the workspace mindset, because instead of being at a desk we turn to the sofa or bedroom to be our workspace and that’s when shit hits the fan. Who’s going to choose work over being cozy and comfortable in bed on their phone? I’M NOT!… and no one is lol. This is why it’s important to define an area in your home as your designated workspace. That way you can separate both scenarios. The one where your extremely productive and hardworking, where you have no emediate distractions; and the one where you can relax and whind down form your supper productive day.
-
DECLUTTER
Keeping you working space clean will help you stay productive. Clutter can easily attract your attention making you want to tidy up. It’s better to set a time to declutter your area than be distracted by it while working.
-
SCHEDULE IN BREAKS
Breaks?! Yes, they are necessary. You don’t want to burn yourself out with work. Take a 15-minute break and go grab a tea/coffee just as in an office environment. Taking this time is important. It will keep your mind light and ready to work.
-
NEVER SKIP LUNCH
Lunch is way too important to skip. Working on an empty stomach is not fun! Believe me, your brain needs more fuel than just caffeine. Also, it’s a good time to step away from work for at least 30 minutes. This way you can have a clear mind and energy for the second half of your day.
-
SET DAILY GOALS
Set daily goals to accomplish. This will help you figure out your tasks for the day and keep you motivated and productive.
-
HAVE A LIST OF TASKS
Lists are always a good idea when trying to organize your tasks for the day. Making lists will help you to determine what tasks are a priority and which ones can be done later. This is key to staying productive.
-
USE TIME BLOCKING
Time blocking when doing tasks on your lists will help you stay on track during your day. Working from home comes with many home task distractions. I mean its hard not jumping into a full clean session when you see something you’ve been wanting to tidy up. Setting a time limit for tasks for the day can help you concentrate on your actual work and not your house chores.
-
MAKE CLEAR BOUNDARIES
Know what time to start working and what time to stop. Working from home has many perks but you could end up feeling like all you do is work. There should be a time where you are fully concentrated and working and a time where you completely disconnect from work. That being said… draw a line between home and work! No shame in that game. We aren’t robots lol.
HOPE THESE 12 TIPS HELP YOU ALL BE MORE PRODUCTIVE WHEN WORING FROM HOME!!
