We all want to decorate the perfect christmas tree for the holidays with beautiful lights and decorations! But honestly sometimes it’s easier said than done. Don’t worry, because this year we’ve got you covered on what you’ll need and how to do it. This way you get to plan out your christmas tree décor easily!
What you’ll need
First things first! To have your dream Christmas tree you actually need to have a couple of things!
1.Christmas Tree
Invest in a tree. Either it be a real tree or an artificial one you can’t decorate a tree you don’t have. Look for the better quality looking ones to provide sturdy support for all the decorations you’ll want to add. If you’re going the artificial tree route, it’s probably best to go for one that look as natural as possible. Anything with color and artificial looking can go out of style or trend after a few years. This way you get your money’s worth.
2. Tree Base
Yes! You need something to hold your tree up right! Skip this if you have a fake tree.
3. Tree Lights
Even though artificial pre-lit Christmas trees are popular because they will save you time when decorating, you’ll most definitely need Christmas tree lights if you have a plain tree (real or artificial).
4. Decorations
Choose a theme for your tree and get decorations that compliment it. You don’t want to skip getting these. They will help you set the style and make your tree look more full and pretty. Hanging ornaments, ribbons, garlands, or floral details, choose decorations that will compliment the overall appearance of your tree.
5. Tree Topper
A Christmas tree topper is important to piece together the entire theme and look your going for. Choose carefully so it fits the theme and size of your Christmas tree. Keep in mind the height of your ceiling! You can also go for a giant bow rather than a traditional tree topper or even make your own.
6. Tree Skirt
A Christmas tree Skirt will help you finish your tree theme in a cohesive way. Also helps hide the base of your tree (real or artificial) and makes it look pretty for a fully decorated finished look.
how to do it
Here’s a step by step on how to decorate your Christmas tree, once you’ve put it in the tree base and it is standing up right, for you to follow so it’s a pleasant and easy experience.
1. Start with the lights first
The first thing you should always do when decorating your Christmas tree is to add add the lights first. It’s a lot easier when you don’t have all the decorations in the way.
The best way, in my opinion, to do it is to plug in the lights to the multi-plug that should already be plugged into the power outlet so you can see where you’re putting your lights more clearly. Start at the back bottom of your tree and go around your it distributing your lights evenly until you get to the top. You can use more than one set of lights if you want a more dense-lit tree, because these can connect in series together.
2. Add the decorations
After the lights are up and you love the way they look, start adding the decorations. Add them by category. For example: if you have ball ornaments and ribbons, add the ball ornaments first with enough space in between to add the ribbons later. This way they will be evenly distributed and you won’t have all of your ball ornaments to one side of the tree. Instead you’ll have a good mix and variety of ornaments that work together with the theme you’re going for.
3. Place your tree topper or giant ribbon
After all your ornaments are up on the tree and you’re happy with the way they are placed it’s time to add your tree topper or giant ribbon. Make sure it’s sturdy, you don’t want it to fall off and hang to the side.
4. Put the skirt on the tree
Last but not least, add your tree skirt and look at you beautiful creation! Your tree is finished!
